In 1998, Nick Saban had a single thought that changed the course of his now-legendary coaching career.
While at Michigan State, he shifted from being a transactional leader—obsessed with wins and losses—to a transformational one. He focused on:
• Developing individuals
• Maximizing each person’s potential within the team concept
• Challenging them to be their best
This change in mindset transformed his entire trajectory, ultimately leading him to 7 national championships, including 6 at Alabama.
This resonates deeply with what we’re doing at VERVE.
Our culture isn’t just about hitting numbers. We empower individuals to be their best, even in a remote world. Team VERVE has learned our winning playbook, and with strong coaching and development, they’re executing—and delivering results.
And, we’ve put faith at the center of it. That’s our strategic differentiator. It’s what guides us day-to-day and helps us attract top talent.
People want to be part of this mission. In fact, my team and I are receiving numerous messages from former colleagues who want back in because they see where we’re headed and appreciate how we work together.
Saban’s lesson is clear: success isn’t just measured in outcomes on the field. It’s the byproduct of developing the right people, the right way.
If we’ve teamed up before and you know you’re the right fit for Team VERVE—give me a shout!
