One of the benefits of my role as Chairman and founder of the Simon School Venture Fund, is having the great pleasure of meeting and working with amazing leaders, alumni, faculty, and students associated with the University of Rochester – Simon Business School, University of Rochester.

One of those fantastic leaders is the Dean of the University of Rochester – Simon Business School, Sevin Yeltekin.

After more than five years as Dean, Dr. Sevin Yeltekin is heading to Washington, D.C., where she’ll become the next Dean of the The George Washington University School of Business, The George Washington University.

I want to take a moment to say: Thank you, Sevin!

At Simon, you weren’t just a leader. You were a builder.

You oversaw the academic and administrative direction of the school.
You championed students, faculty, and alumni alike.

You fostered experiential learning.

You guided the creation of the 2025 Strategic Plan, expanded degree programs, and launched forward-thinking initiatives in AI and interdisciplinary collaboration.

And under your leadership, the school’s rankings and reputation steadily climbed.

What stood out to me most, though, was your presence.

A calm and brilliant mind. A world-class macroeconomist. A servant leader with a bold vision and a collaborative spirit.

Now, you’ll be doing the same in the heart of our nation’s capital.

GW is lucky to have you.

On behalf of so many at Simon, thank you for your service, your leadership, and your impact.

We’ll be cheering you on in this next chapter.

Meliora!
