For nearly two years now, my daily routine has included a refreshing 39-degree morning cold plunge. It’s my sacred time for quiet reflection, prayer, and focusing on the vital few things I need to get done for the day.

A few weeks ago, as I was heading outside to my morning plunge, our four-year-old daughter, Lily Grace, stopped me and said, “Dad, it’s very important. Can we talk?”

Curious, I asked, “Sure, what’s up?”

“Dad, I think I need my own cold plunge. I like it; it makes me feel better and helps with my headaches. Your plunge is too big for me to get in and out of by myself.”

I was thrilled to hear that she wanted to join me! I said, “That’s awesome! I feel great after my plunge every day too!”

I quickly went to the garage, grabbed our blue igloo cooler, and transferred some water from my big plunge into it.

Boom – Lily Grace had her very own cold plunge and was ready to go!

Now, each morning, I enjoy my plunge XL (daddy size), while Lily Grace uses her plunge LG (Lily Grace size). It’s become a truly special moment of our daily routine.

My Takeaways:

Whether at home or in business (VERVE), your actions speak louder than words.

As a leader, modeling the behavior and culture you want to see in others is crucial.

Words alone won’t suffice if they’re not backed by action.

And lastly, cherish the moments.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it” – Ferris Bueller

Daily cold plunging with Lily Grace is pure joy.
